Book Review:

'The Proposal', the February Reese's Book Club Pick. 'The Proposal' is about two people who find each other, friendship and family, tacos and cupcakes, and love. One of my favorite rom-com scenes is the wedding scene at the very end of 'Coming to America'.

Eddie Murphy has gone back to his home country because the woman that he fell in love with turned him down, and he's getting married to, he thinks, the person that his parents set him up with, and then at the wedding she lifts her veil, and it's his love, Lisa from New York.

There's so many emotions that you see cross his face, and it just makes me so happy for him and everybody there. One of the things that I want my characters to experience in my books, is that same joy that Eddie Murphy has on his face when he sees Lisa at the wedding.

One more rom-com scene that I love is a scene in When 'Harry Met Sally'. When Harry and Sally set their best friends up with one another, and then their best friends end up falling in love with each other, and jumping in a cab together at the end of the night. -

Well I don't really feel much like walking anymore. I think I'll get a cab. - I'll go with you. - Great. Taxi! Another one of my favorite rom-com scenes is from 'Clueless'.

Cher is walking around dejectedly, all by herself, she goes shopping because that's what she does to make herself feel better. And then she realizes that she's in love with Josh. - Oh my god.

I love Josh. There's so many times in life when we don't realize the things that are staring us right in the face. Sometimes it takes something big to kind of hit you in the face with, oh my god,

I'm in love with this person who's been in your life for so long. This scene relates so much to 'The Proposal', which I only really just realized, there is a scene, at some point in 'The Proposal', when you read it, that you will realize what I mean.
