Book review:
We are delighted to present the latest edition of A Aid to Accountancy for CBSE Class XII 2023 Examination after the overwhelmingly positive response to the previous editions of the book.
This book is in line with the changed pattern of questions (as given in CBSE sample papers) and will cater to the needs of teachers and students alike. CBSE sample papers contain questions which can be termed as 'reverse questions'.
Special attention has been paid to include such questions in the Model Test Papers. The book contains 8 (eight) solved and 2 (two) unsolved model test papers, strictly based on the latest CBSE sample question papers 2022-23.
Solutions to Unsolved Model Test Papers can be accessed by scanning the respective QR code. We will also post the solutions of Unsolved Model Test Papers at www.sultan-chand.com/ws

1. Accounts Receivable
Accounts receivable is the amount of money owed to a business by its customers. A company's accounts receivable represents the total value of goods sold minus the total amount of cash received from customers. If a customer does not pay his/her bill, then the company owes him/her money. An account receivable is a liability of the company.
2. Accounts Payable
An accounts payable is the amount of money that a company owes to its suppliers. A company's accounts payable represents the total value of bills paid to vendors minus the total amount of money the company receives from its customers. If a supplier does not deliver products or services, then the company owes the supplier money. An accounts payable is a liability of the business.
3. Cash
Cash is the money that a business holds in its bank accounts. Cash is a type of asset. Cash is generated when sales exceed expenses. When a company makes a profit, it keeps some of the money for future use. In addition, companies sometimes borrow money from banks or investors. The borrowed money is called debt. Companies often have both types of assets and liabilities.
4. Inventory
Inventory is the stock of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and supplies held at a company's manufacturing facility. Inventory is a type of asset that helps businesses make profits. Companies buy inventory items to produce their own products. Companies sell their products to consumers. Sales occur when consumers purchase the company's products.
5. Liabilities
Liabilities are debts that a company owes to others. Liabilities represent the total amount of money that a business owes to creditors. Liabilities may include loans, bonds, taxes, and trade debts.
6. Net Worth
Net worth is the difference between total assets and total liabilities. Total assets include all the financial investments owned by a company, such as real estate, equipment, vehicles, and furniture. Total liabilities include all debts owed by the company, such as loans, taxes, and trade debt.
7. Profit & Loss Statement
A profit and loss statement shows how much money a company earned and lost over a specific period of time. A profit and loss statement includes two parts: income statement and balance sheet.
