Book Review:

We regret to inform you this is by Arielle Caplan this came across the desk actually at the library as I was checking in some books and I figured I'd give it a whirl it is about College Admissions and more specifically

It's actually about College rejection the book is based in modern times in the fictional town of Blanchardville and the main character is Misha a Purim of ickiest try to say that five times fast her mother is a social justice lawyer

Who works at a nonprofit law firm and she works very hard and doesn't make a lot of money but she works very hard so she can send Misha to the private school blinkered high school

So that she can get the best possible education and have a great step forward into the College Admission Misha is doing great

There she's actually on track to be the valedictorian and she's trailed very closely behind by Meredith d'Orsay who's an uber-rich kid from the area and they have a bit of a rivalry going on Misha doesn't mind Meredith too much

But Meredith cannot stand Misha the school seems to be very ambitious and every student there is playing to attend collagen is going through the senior admission cycle and Misha is no different

She applies to a lot of schools she applies to Harvard Duke and she applies to a few safety schools and one of those is Paul Revere a local school that she doesn't want to attend

But it is her bottom-of-the-barrel safety school Misha has spent her entire high school career building up her high school resume

So that she would have a better chance at going to college so she's joined many clubs she has a flawless GPA she's even a member of the Students Against Drunk Driving Association which she doesn't want to even be a part of

She only does it so she can boost her college resume, everyone, at Michel's high school starts getting back their college admission decisions back and Misha is actually denied from every single college

She applied to she applied as I said to several Ivy League schools she's actually even denied from her safety school this creates a really frustrating scenario for her

She has to figure out why she got denied and what made every single college she applied to not think she would be a good candidate for their school Misha believes perhaps something got messed up with her college applications

She starts to believe that perhaps it was a problem with the office sending her information and her transcripts to these schools so she and a group of friends start to dig they start to dig

They actually find a major dilemma at Bankard and it's up to them to figure out how they can fix it and what they can do to get everything resolved

I would personally recommend this book to my students I think this is an easy to read the book and it is enjoyable and engrossing it was a great book to pick up and read as the week went on

I got very invested in the story and I enjoyed reading it a lot I could go either way I could remand it or I could not it really depends on how my students feel about reading a challenging text or just an enjoyable text

but I personally enjoyed it a lot and if it sounds like a book you would be interested in I definitely recommend it.

 THANK YOU SO MUCH
