Battle for the American Mind it was totally for covid relief. It's now being used in blue states to implement anti-racism and implicit bias training in our classroom. >> brian: a topic that pete hegseth writes about in upcome book "The battle of the american mind" he joins us for the american mind I should say. 

Pete, this is right up your alley. This is news within your big picture story. >> pete: yeah. You know, guys, when big pools of money land in the laps of states and school districts, they pursue their own priorities. We for this. We want to believe it's for covid. It never was for covid. 

These poolings of money land where they want it to land. The first step to recovery for parents and grandparents or anyone -- I mean, first step to recovery, steve, you have obsession for finding the perfect recipe, ainsley you are too nice. Brian baseball card collection putting your jeopardy. 

The first step to recovery is admitting the depth of your problem. And whether it comes to american education, we have to admitted the depth of the stranglehold that unions and the left have on walk what they are teaching our kids and you might have a great teacher and many people do. 

And you might have a great principal and many people do or a great superintendent. But the priorities of the pipeline from the teacher's colleges to the unions, to the curriculum and to the pet gojy which is not what the curriculum is but how the kids are being taught is completely captured by progressives. And that pipeline started 100 years ago. 

That's what my book is about battle for the american mind. When it comes to covid relief funds, they look at their priorities and they don't say american history because that's been changed already. They don't say political science because that's become social studies. 

That's a creation of the progressives and the marxists. They say diversity, equity and inclusion their goal is not education social change. That's why you see pronouns and gender not the basics.

They want to mold your kids because they believe your kids are theirs. I'm not talking about every teacher. I'm talking about the controlled education establishment. And it's public and private across the country. 

And if we don't understand that depth we are going to keep pumping covid money at school districts with no guardrails on it and it turns into implicit bias training. >> steve: the u.S. Department of education gave a statement to foxnews.Com and essentially said this is not happening. But, they looked at the money. 

This outfit. One nation did. And, you know, in new york, in california, and illinois it's already being used. And, pete, you and I live in new jersey. 10 other states, new jersey, michigan, virginia used or plan to use money to implement parts of crt. 

Here's the thing when it was passed it sounded great. Sure, let's open the schools. But it wasn't for plexiglass and ventilation. It was for indoctrination. >> yeah. They everywhere never going to spend billions of dollars on new ventilation and masks and plexiglass as well. 

This is also what they do. They deny what they are doing or they give it a different name. They call quality equity. We don't teach crt it's diversity, equity and inclusion. 

It's -- they use the code word democracy all the time. By of the way, in my book as we did research on this all the way back, they changed the words to make them something that sounds familiar to people like the word democracy or social justice. 

And/or social emotional learning they tell parents it's all okay or self-esteem. This is nothing new, guys, every parent need to look into their own school and realize your school is infected as well. Yes, fight back at school boards that's great.

Fighting back at school boards is kind of liking nerf guns feel good about it not change the institution. >> safe way to fight and pete work in the break about ainsley to have her be less nice. I appreciate you pointing that out.
