Book Review:

Trees inhabit every part of the natural world, from mountains to savannas. They play an important role in the ecosystems they inhabit. Without trees, many wild animals would have no shelter and no food. In addition, trees provide humans with wood used in construction and as fuel for heat and cooking. They also produce wood used to make paper, pens and ink. In short, trees contribute to human life in many ways.

Since trees are living, breathing creatures, they are always in a state of flux. They grow tall and spread out their branches to capture sunlight; at this stage they're known as saplings. After a few years, they grow enough to begin producing fruit- which is also known as becoming an adult tree. Through the process of sap production, adults produce wood used for construction and fuel. After several decades, the tree reaches its full potential and begins to decline. Since it's no longer producing new wood, its life span shortens. During this final stage, the tree falls prey to animal or human predators. However, despite trees' mortality rate, their presence is still vital to the ecosystem they inhabit.

Nature constantly replenishes its trees with new foliage and fruit. As trees die, their leaves stop falling off and new branches start producing leaves again. In addition, animals such as birds and squirrels eat the fruit that newly-grown trees produce. Over time, this process leads to a total depletion of the trees' supply of foliage and fruit. However, this does not mean that trees stop producing these items- instead, other animals take over these tasks so that trees can continue living naturally. In addition, forests are a haven for many species of animals; they support vast numbers of insects such as ants and moths as well as mammals such as deer and bears. Without trees protecting them from predators, many animals would lose too much food or shelter to survive on their own.

Trees are a part of nature since they help maintain many essential elements of the wild world we live in. Most importantly, trees provide shelter for many animal species through new foliage and fruit they produce each year. They also provide food for many animals through leaves and fruits that animal populations take care of over time. Without Nature's constant upkeep on its components, many organisms would find themselves starving or homeless without a way to sustain themselves naturally.
