Book Review:
Ruination by Anthony Reynolds you mostly root for her the entire time other main characters uh that you see a bit of mostly from kalista's point of view but there's a lot of cool characters you have viego obviously you have grail or grille
i'm not sure how to pronounce his name who turns into thresh who's a thresher in the blessed isles you see quite a lot from his point of view as well i think he's probably the second most seen character
if we're talking about specifically from their point of view so um and of course they meet up at one point in the book and you get to see them both in the same place but overall thresh is the exact opposite i disliked him as a character not that he was a bad character i think he's a great character well written he was very unlikable though a lot of things
i bought him i didn't like but that's a that's a that's a good part that's that's a good thing it's always good to have characters you dislike and root against to an extent although in the same time you have this morbid curiosity if he's going to get away with what he's trying to do
so great character as well other characters you're going to see the novel you will see side characters such as ladros you see quite a bit of him as well great character um like the guy a lot ryze is actually not a main character
but a central character to some of the plot so you get to see quite a bit of rise as well young rise of course pretty much teenager rise in his late teens more or less i i can't remember what his age was but i think he's like maybe 16 17
i have to guess i could be wrong here maybe they didn't mention his age but young rise is in the book you have tyrus who's his uh the guy he's tutelaging under right his mentor so um tyrus is there hecarim is there quite a bit although you almost never see anything from hecarim's point of
view almost every time you see hecarim is from kalista's point of view he's not the nicest character but you can you you don't i don't dislike him because you can understand him he has very specific motives
so he's a he's a character who you don't like but you also don't dislike he has his reasons for doing the things he wants to do you have uh the advisor to diego i forgot his name nonio nuno something like that um his
his second name is actually his his last name is nekrit so you have him cool character yeah neck for himself yes indeed and other than that a lot of other small characters i i think her name is jade kaya is there um
she is the person who eventually makes the sentinels of the light organization i might have butchered her name but she's there quite a bit at certain points in the novel does it solely make an appearance yes you
see quite a bit of a soul day in the beginning correct until she obviously dies but you do see her in the beginning and you do see her after the ronation so it solely does make an appearance furthermore um a character probably nobody expects to see soraka appears in the in the story
so soraka makes an appearance um that's pretty cool not for much but she's there yeah you see um one of the people from the faroese family he makes a significant appearance at a certain point you get to see a lot of cool areas the buru place the serpent isles yeah the serpent isles you go to
the serpent isles are they the serpentis or are they the guru serpentiles yeah so you get to go there for a bit very interesting location um you have all the masters who are on the blessed isles who have their own um own schools own like the people who are basically in charge of the blessed isles you get
this you get to really see and understand how the blessed eyes worked how their society worked their principles their government type it was cool to see kalista's the main character absolutely yes does it mention soldiers making gwen or something like that an easter egg yes there's
a small easter egg about gwen but it's a very small one very minor nothing significant about gwen is sacrum a nice guy no but you understand why he is the way he is he's definitely not a nice guy but you understand him unlike
he doesn't do things out of evil he does them out of greed and necessity whereas the opposite is true about grail right or grile who is thresh he's just evil he's just a really mean person he just wants to see suffering for the sake of suffering other than that what else can i say that doesn't spoil the book
i find it really interesting how at least the way the book was written so many people are guilty for the ronation happening i think there's about 10 different people if they didn't do what they did their nation would have never happened so it's not one person's fault many people are to blame off the top of my head viego is obviously obviously to blame diego is obviously one to blame but so is kalista kalista's there to blame so is hecarim so is thresh
So is soraka you can also easily blame rise for their nation you can easily blame tyrus for their nation nuno is to blame for the renation or whatever his name is the adviser to viego why soraka what did she do well that would be a spoiler all of these people
if they didn't do what they did in the novel the renation would have never happened to a smaller degree the masters and the blessed owls are to blame much smaller degree though not like directly lagers is innocent lasers did nothing wrong ladies is like the the nicest character in
the book as soldie is not to blame she didn't do anything wrong directly okay the pharaohs guy from the pharaoh's family is to blame for their nation as well he played a direct role in the events that led to the renation i mean i wouldn't say the assassin is the blame sir really because
i mean he he led the chain of events that caused a soul day to die and whatever but now i would i would not go that far how old is the ferrous family it doesn't really say and yeah off the top of my head those are the people who are to blame like who if they didn't exist
the renation would have never happened was rise involved due to world ruins um his involvement is because he was on the blessed isles before it happened rise rise spent a lot of time in the blessed isles and the things.
