Book Review:

Historically speaking, murder has been a popular subject to write about in literature, music and mythology. Though many genres of literature present violent scenes as romantic, murder is still considered a crime against humanity.

Therefore, most people find it shocking to learn that murderers have been in love at some point. On the other hand, many people find it shocking to hear that serial killers have also experienced love. Understanding how these two aspects of human nature relate to one another can help us live happier and more fulfilling lives.

Some people believe that the motives behind mass murderers' acts are similar to that of a romantic partner's love interest- someone who wants to be loved and cherished. However, the motives behind a romantic murderer's act are much darker than the one who just wants to be loved.

The former wants to be loved without any limits or restrictions; he wants his love to be unconditional and limitless. In contrast, the latter simply wants his love to be returned- he doesn't want his partner's affection to end up hurting him in some way. Essentially, while both groups want to be loved, only one group understands the importance of limiting his love.

Serial killers' love relationships are just as horrific as the ones conducted by romantic murderers. For example, in their pasts, both Charles Starkweather and John Wayne Gacy were involved in long-term romances with their victims' families.

These relationships caused the serial killers' feelings of hatred and violence toward their victims' families to grow stronger over time. In this respect, both groups of lovers are equally guilty of hatred toward their victims' families.

To bring light to this idea, think back on your most bitter childhood memories- were family members really awarded for doing wrong? Or were they instead regularly attacked by you?

Since both lovers are guilty of hatred toward their victims' families, victims' families should expect the same level of hatred from both groups of love seekers. This is because both groups are seeking revenge against those who wronged them in life. As such, some people have found it useful to refer to this phenomenon as 'victimhood hate.'

In light of this fact, it might be helpful for family members of homicide victims to reach out directly to violent criminals in prison cells for support during tragedies. Doing so could help reduce the levels of hatred felt by both groups and allow all sides to seek closure after loss.

Based on our previous conclusions, mass murderers and serial killers can exhibit similar levels of love toward their targets. Since this form of hate is prevalent among killer couples, victims' families should expect the same level of hatred from both groups of love seekers.

This phenomenon is known as 'victimhood hate,' and since both groups are seeking revenge against those who wronged them in life, both groups are equally guilty of hatred toward their victims' families.

However, since only one group understands the importance of limiting his love- that is, only when it benefits him - only one group is guilty of hating its victims' families: only those who murdered will do so without limit or hindrance.
