Book Review:
You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks this book it takes place in New York City and it starts off with a woman named Shay who goes down to take the subway as part of her normal routine and when she's down
there she sees another woman come down on the platform and she actually jumps in front of the Train and Shay actually witnesses this right before her very eyes and essentially the story unfolds from there really liked the atmosphere it had a nice super Gossip Girl vibe for a few different reasons
I mean it takes place in New York City and it also had a core group of friends who kind of got by on their money and their power and privilege as kind of core to who they were as people so it was very Gossip Girl asked in that aspect of things I also really liked the writing style of this book it was very fast paced it was the kind of book where I kept wanting to pick it up
I kept wanting to read one more chapter and just find out what was happening so the writing style really got me as well and finally this book did have a few good plot twists which of course I feel like is necessary to give a book of five stars especially a thriller or a mystery however that is not the reason
I give this book five stars I think the final reason that I really love this book is just the sense of just a constant state of tension that the author's achieved throughout this book I feel like at any more something terrible could happen
it was just kept me on the edge of my seat so for all of those reasons it was my first 5-star thriller of the year now just a few things you may want to keep in mind
number one this book does talk throughout about suicide it does feature a suicide it's kind of a core plot point
so if you don't want to read about that then don't read this book also I think some of the plot points some of the character dynamics kind of borderline on shall
we say cheesy I guess personally I don't think it crossed a line but I think some people may feel otherwise about that you know take that for what it is.
